Ecological Assessments

We carry out ecological assessments to understand how a project may affect wildlife and habitats — and how to design better outcomes for biodiversity.

Ecological assessments help build a full picture of how a proposed development or land use change might affect wildlife and habitats. We take a conservation-led approach, identifying ecological constraints early, but also looking for opportunities to protect, enhance or restore.

We produce Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), and inputs for Environmental Statements, all grounded in robust fieldwork and honest, evidence-based advice. We aim to highlight what's important, how it could be affected, and what can be done to avoid or reduce harm.

Whether you’re applying for planning permission, developing a management plan, or exploring a new project, our assessments help make informed, ecologically sound decisions.

Our assessments include:

• Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA) and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA)
• Clear mapping of ecological constraints and opportunities
• Honest advice to reduce harm and improve biodiversity outcomes
• Supports planning applications, design development, and land management
• Grounded in strong field ecology and conservation thinking
